The Holiday Sweater:
Climate Change Collection

What will the holidays look like on a warming planet?

The last 12 months have been the hottest on record. And as our planet continues to warm, our lives will change with it. Our traditions, our way of life, even our holiday sweaters.

The Climate Change Collection imagines what a holiday sweater might look like in 40 years.

Unless we change course, of course.

We’re partnering with the David Suzuki Foundation to ask Canadians to fight against climate change and take action for environmental justice. Let’s work together to keep, our planet cool, our winters cold, and our holiday sweaters sweaters.

How we made it.

When creating the Climate Change Collection, we kept sustainability in mind at every touchpoint. The holiday sweaters used to create the collection were sourced from local second-hand shops, and the leftover sewing supplies were donated to Value Village. Even our gallery window display was made using repurposed materials.

The Collection was brought to life over a weekend in November by talented Toronto designer/sewer Sarah Mathieson. When she’s not repurposing old holiday sweaters into climate-change-ready bathing suits, she designs stage and video costumes for her touring band, @doghouserose.
